The Prayer Room is gradually opening to the public, and currently is open from 11am-5pm on weekends. We ask that you mask while inside. We also encourage you to enjoy and explore the many sacred Stupas and our 65-acre Peace Park across the street. There are many beautiful altars where people are welcome to make offerings including our newest arrival Guru Rinpoche, currently on the front porch until it’s installed near the Migyur Dorje Stupa.

Temple in Poolesville
KPC Maryland is a unique temple and monastery (living space for ordained monks and nuns) founded by Her Eminence Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo Rinpoche under the guidance of His Holiness Penor Rinpoche. Located in Poolesville, Maryland, KPC includes the Temple, grounds and Stupa Peace Park and a small store. KPC Maryland offers a prayer room open to the public 24 hours a day, as well as 72 acres of pristine grounds that include sacred statues, five color gardens, in the traditional colors of Tibetan Buddhism, a large collection of sacred monuments, called Stupas, in sizes up to 38 feet tall, and mapped walking trails for meditation, exercise, contemplation, and prayers.
KPC Maryland holds daily practices, currently online, and a 24-hour prayer vigil that began in 1985. The temple is gradually opening to the public, with the prayer room open to visitors from 11am-4pm on weekends. Visitors can add names or situations to be read aloud during group practices – requests can be made at the temple or online via this link. For a small donation, candles are available to offer on the various altars. As soon as the temple opens for group practices, assistance will be provided for those new to the practices and chanting. Additionally, parking for people with disabilities is provided.
